DOMINGUEZ WINS FOUR RACES SUNDAY AT BELMONT PARK

ELMONT, N.Y. – Jockey Ramon Dominguez continued his torrid pace by riding four winners Sunday at Belmont Park, marking the ninth time this year that he has registered four or more victories in a day on The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) circuit.

The two-time defending Eclipse champion rider wasted no time on Sunday, guiding Ruby Lips ($4.50) to victory in the day’s first race. He then rode Centrique ($6.10) to a nine-length score in Race 4, War Hoot ($4.90) in Race 8, and Boots Ahead ($9.10) in Race 9.

Through seven days of the 37-day Belmont fall meet, Dominguez has 17 wins, 11 ahead of Javier Castellano and Joel Rosario (6 wins apiece) to lead the jockey standings.

Fresh off a record-setting meet at Saratoga Race Course, where he won 68 races to break Hall of Famer John Velazquez’s record, Dominguez is seeking his 19th NYRA meet title. He has topped the year-end NYRA jockey standings the past three years.

The Venezuelan-born Dominguez, 35, leads the nation with more than $17.3 million in total purses and is second with 251 victories.
