$164K PICK 6 CARRYOVER ADDS SPICE TO SUNDAY CARD

 

ELMONT, N.Y. – Only one favorite won during Saturday’s Pick 6 sequence, with upset wins by Naples Bay ($28) and Boyz Night ($80) helping set up a two-day carryover of $164,621.

 

Sunday’s Pick 6 begins with race 5, scheduled for 2:52 p.m. Three of the six races are oversubscribed, and five have attracted of 11 or more entrants before scratches, excluding runners who are entered for the main track only.

 

The day’s featured race is race 9, an optional claimer at one mile on the Widener turf course that serves as the fifth leg of the Pick 6. The race attracted four last-out winners: Strong Impact (5-2 on the morning line), Boots Ahead (3-1), Rustler Hustler (4-1), and Dominant Jeannes (6-1).
