THREE "PARTY AT THE PARK" DATES HIGHLIGHT BELMONT SPRING/SUMMER CALENDER

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The biggest party on Long Island returns to Belmont Park for three Fridays this summer as Corona Light presents “Party at the Park” on July 1, 8, and 15.

Party at the Park Fridays kick off with a special 3 p.m. post time and drink specials throughout the afternoon. When live racing concludes (approximately 7:15 p.m.), live music takes the stage in Belmont’s backyard and this year’s lineup features three of the most popular acts on Long Island.

On Friday, July 1, the Lou Gramm Band kicks off the Party at the Park concert series. Gramm, former lead vocalist and co-writer of the multi-platinum rock band Foreigner, as well as a successful solo artist in his own right, will host a powerful live show featuring the band’s distinctive sound.

One week later on Friday, July 8, Wondrous Stories will rock the backyard with the best music from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s. Reputed to be “the band that can play just about anything,” Wondrous Stories will cover songs by Yes, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, The Who, The Beatles and more.

The final act in the 2011 Party at the Park concert series on July 15 is Big Shot, the popular tribute band featuring the songs of Long Island’s own Billy Joel. Comprised of professional, national touring musicians, Big Shot is committed to the accurate reproduction of the “Piano Man’s” repertoire, and is versatile enough to also cover Elton John, The Beatles, Journey, Paul McCartney, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi and many others!

Belmont’s spring/summer meet runs 56 live racing days from Friday, April 29 – Sunday, July 17. The 143rd running of the Grade 1, $1 million Belmont Stakes, the third jewel in racing’s Triple Crown, will take place on Saturday, June 11. With the exception of “Party at the Park,” first race post time is 1 p.m.
