TEN WINS CLINCH TITLES AT TIMONIUM
TIMONIUM, MD. 9-6-10---Ten was the magic number among riders and trainers during the seven day Maryland State Fair meeting at Timonium, which concluded this afternoon.
Dane Kobiskie sent out twenty-eight starters over the past two weekends. Ten of his runners, including four this afternoon, met him back at the winner’s circle, giving him the largest share of a $10,000 bonus that went to the top four conditioners at the meeting. Scott Lake finished second.
J. D. Acosta rode two winners today and ten overall to earn his second riding title in the past three years at Timonium. Jenna Joubert nearly caught Acosta on closing day when she rode three winners to end her chase at nine.
Live racing in Maryland returns to Laurel Park on Saturday for the start of the autumn meeting, highlighted by the 25th Jim McKay Maryland Million on October 2.
