NYRA TO OFFER ADVANCE WAGERING ON ARC DE TRIOMPHE

 

ELMONT, N.Y. – Advance wagering on the 2010 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and selected races on the undercard at Longchamp will be offered at Belmont Park on Super Saturday, October 2.

 

Beginning at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, self-service machines and mutuel tellers will be open for advance wagering on the Arc de Triomphe (post time 10:05 a.m. Sunday, October 3), along with the Group 1 Prix de la Foret (9:20 a.m. Sunday), the Group 1 Prix de L’Abbayede (11:35 a.m. Sunday), and the Prix de Dona Handicap (12:05 p.m. Sunday).

 

Telebet will also be accepting advance wagering from Longchamp on Saturday.

 

On Sunday, internet wagering and Telebet wagering will be available on all four races beginning at 9 a.m., while self-service wagering and a voucher seller will be available on the first-floor grandstand at Belmont Park beginning at 11:15 a.m. for the Prix de L’Abbayede and the Prix de Dona.

 

The Prix de la Foret and the Arc de Triomphe will be televised on NYRA’s Nassau-Suffolk in-home network.

 

With a special first race post time of 12:30 p.m., live racing on Super Saturday at Belmont Park features five Grade 1 races including the $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup, the centerpiece of the fall championship meet. Also on Saturday are the $500,000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational, the $500,000 Flower Bowl Invitational, the $350,000 Beldame, and the $350,000 Vosburgh.

 

Racing fans will also receive a free NYRA baseball cap with paid admission Saturday, while supplies last.

 

Great live racing continues Sunday at Belmont Park with the Grade 2, $250,000 Kelso at a mile on the main track along with the Grade 3, $150,000 Pilgrim for 2-year-olds and the Grade 3, $150,000 Miss Grillo for 2-year-old fillies, both on the turf.

 

Gates open Sunday at 11 a.m. with first race post time at 1 p.m.
