MISS NATALIE STREAKS TO 2ND STRAIGHT WIN, HAMILTON QUADRUPLES
OKLAHOMA CITY – Continuing to show improvement with every attempt this season, Miss Natalie rolled to an impressive five-length win in Wednesday’s $33,200 allowance feature for Oklahoma-bred fillies.
Owned by Gar Oil Corp of Ft. Worth, Texas and trained by Joe Offolter, Miss Natalie was handled by jockey Aaron Gryder. The 3-year-old filly went to the outside of the pace-setting Sum Silver Eyes and Lucky Lipstick as the field of eight moved to the turn of the six-furlong event. As the trio reached the quarter-mile pole, Miss Natalie began her move and quickly grabbed the lead before drawing off over the course of the stretch. She crossed the finish in 1:10.55 over a fast track.
The heavy 4-5 wagering favorite, Miss Natalie won her second straight race of the season and paid $3.60 to win, $2.40 to place and $2.10 to show. Lucky Lipstick paid $3.20 to place and $2.10 to show. Cagey Little Girl moved into third and returned $2.60 to place.
Miss Natalie won her third career race from five attempts and her second at Remington Park. She is a daughter of Fistfite from the Slew the Slewor mare It’s the Berries. Bred in Oklahoma by Center Hills Farm, Miss Natalie had a full-sister win the sixth race on Wednesday at Remington Park when the 6-year-old mare Berrynice prevailed in an Oklahoma-bred claiming event sprint.
The winner’s check of $19,315 pushes Miss Natalie’s career bankroll to $48,856.
Jockey Quincy Hamilton posted four victories Wednesday. The quadruple began with Im Your Devil ($24.60 to win) in the opener and was followed by Personality Kid ($11.20) in the third, Berrynice ($11.20) in the sixth and Berlioz ($19) in the finale.
Hamilton’s quadruple gives him 15 wins for the season.
Gryder’s win aboard Miss Natalie was his second of the night as he also won with Hes Gone Wild ($2.80) in the fourth race. His double moved him into a tie for the lead in the jockey standings as he joined Cliff Berry at the top with 24 wins.
