DEWYZE TO RETURN TO ARLINGTON PARK FOR SEPT. 24 PERFORMANCE
American Idol Season 10 Winner’s First Post Idol-Tour Performance
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (Sept. 2, 2010) – After promising his legion of fans that he’d be back when he was here in May and again last weekend while on the American Idols Live 2010 Tour, season 10 “American Idol” winner Lee DeWyze returns to Arlington Park for a special performance on Friday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. after racing.
Tickets for this event, which dovetails Arlington Park’s live racing card and will be Lee’s his first solo performance following the summer-long nationwide tour, go on sale Friday, Sept. 3 at 9 a.m. Central time and will range in cost from $8 to $35. Tickets can be obtained in one of three ways - online at arlingtonpark.com, by calling (847) 385-7427 or at the Arlington Park box office on race days (Thursday through Sunday, plus Labor Day Monday Sept. 6) from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., however fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online.
There will also be special racing/performance packages available in the Terrace Café; the Marquee Village; and the Million Room. For more information regarding these packages, contact our reservations line at (847) 385-7410.
In order to accommodate the setup time for the performance, the day’s Thoroughbred racing program will start at a special post time of 1 p.m. and be completed by 5 p.m. Those coming for the races will be permitted to stay for the performance but will not be allowed to leave and re-enter the facility after 5 p.m.
All guests, including children 4 and older, will require a paid admission ticket for entry to Arlington Park for both racing and the performance. In addition, children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult in order to be granted entry to Arlington Park for both racing and the performance.
“We are thrilled that Lee has selected Arlington Park to be the site of his first post ‘American Idol’ solo performance,” said Ken Kiehn, vice president of sales, marketing and guest relations. “His memorable and emotional performance here in May was so well received by his many fans who we hope will return to see Lee come home after becoming the 2010 American Idol winner and guests are encouraged to go online to arlingtonpark.com to purchase tickets.”
DeWyze, a native of nearby Mount Prospect, Ill., played his “American Idol” homecoming performance at Arlington Park to more than 41,000 fans of all ages on May 14 after advancing to the show’s Final Three. Two weeks later he was voted as this season’s winner.
