ADIOS SWEETIE WINS SATURDAY FEATURE AT 25-1 ODDS
 
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma-bred sprinters battled in Saturday’s $34,000 optional allowance feature at Remington Park with Adios Sweetie prevailing by a head over Quick Move to pull the upset at odds of 25-1.
 
Owned and trained by Francisco Bravo of Sulphur, Okla. and ridden by Bryan McNeil, Adios Sweetie pressed the pace set by Go O State before moving for the lead with a quarter-mile remaining in the 6-1/2 furlong race. The 4-year-old gelding took over in the stretch and was clear by 1-1/2 lengths before having to hold off a late rush from Quick Move in order to win. Share Cropper rallied late for third, a length behind the top pair.
 
Adios Sweetie crossed the finish in 1:16.7 over the fast track and paid $53 to win, $23.40 to place and $13 to show. Quick Move returned $6 to place and $5 to show. Share Cropper paid $4.40 to show. One Up was fourth.
 
Herecomesthemannow was the beaten 3-2 favorite, finishing fifth.
 
The exacta (Nos.7-8) paid $368.60, the quinella (Nos.7-8) paid $215.80, the trifecta (Nos.7-8-3) paid $3,503.20 and the 10-cent superfecta (Nos.7-8-3-6) $1,053.30.
 
Adios Sweetie, by Magic Cat from the Slew o’Gold mare Golden Adios, won for the third time in his career from 14 starts with all three of his career wins taking place at Remington Park. The winner’s share of $19,770 in the feature moves the lifetime earnings for Adios Sweetie to $57,200.
 
Adios Sweetie was the second win on the night for McNeil. He also posted a big longshot win in race five with Okietate who paid $65.40 at 31-1 odds.
 
Remington Park Thoroughbred racing will continue with a special Labor Day program on Monday, Sept. 6. The 10-race card begins at 1:30pm and features the $125,000 DeBartolo Memorial Breeders’ Cup and the $50,000 Ricks Memorial Stakes, both over the turf course.
 
Remington Park is open daily at 10am for casino gaming and simulcast racing. The normal weekly racing schedule for the Thoroughbred Season is Wednesday thru Saturday at 6:30pm. The season continues thru Dec. 11.
