TROY QUOTES
Linda Rice, winning trainer of Awakino Cat (No. 3): "I saw that Alan had to work pretty hard on him to keep him in contention on the backside. He's a great grass rider - he's terrific at these 5 ½-furlong turf sprints. He rode him very aggressively to make sure that we had a chance, and got him in the right spot. [Awakino Cat] loves this course so I'm going to try to run him again at the end of the meet. This is a colt I bought as a 2-year-old in training. He made his first start here as a 2-year-old. Through the years he's developed, and it's really a pleasure to have a horse come back year after year and do as well as he has."
Alan Garcia, winning jockey aboard Awakino Cat (No. 3): "I had the favorite [Silver Timber] on the inside of me and I wanted to keep him in there for as long as I could. When we turned for home, my horse did what I asked of him. When I hit the sixteenth pole, I knew we had them."
