TRAVERS-PERSONAL ENSIGN DOUBLE, $1 MILLION PICK 4 HIGHLIGHT WEEKEND WAGERING MENU

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – On Saturday, August 28, The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will offer a special Double linking the Travers to the following day’s Personal Ensign, in addition to a $1 Million All-Graded Stakes Late Pick 4 on Travers Day.

The 141st running of the Grade 1 Travers, scheduled as the 12th of 13th races on Saturday, August 28 with a 5:46 p.m. EDT post time, is expected to draw Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver, Jim Dandy winner A Little Warm, Preakness runner-up First Dude, and a host of other contenders that could include Derby runner-up Ice Box, Belmont Stakes runner-up Fly Down, Jim Dandy runner-up Miner’s Reserve, and Haskell runner-up Trappe Shot.

The 63rd running of the Grade 1 Personal Ensign, scheduled for Sunday, August 29, will mark the return of 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra to Saratoga Race Course. Last year, she became the first 3-year-old filly to defeat older males in the prestigious Grade 1 Woodward Stakes on closing weekend at the Spa. She will take on a field that is expected to include Life At Ten, winner of six straight races including the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps Handicap at Belmont Park.

The Travers-Personal Ensign Double will require bettors to correctly select the winners of both races.

Also on Travers Day, NYRA will offer a $1 Million Guaranteed All-Graded Stakes Late Pick 4 featuring the Travers, the Grade 1 King’s Bishop, the Grade 1 Ballerina, and the Grade 3 Victory Ride. By guaranteeing the wager, NYRA will supplement the net difference if the total pool is less than $1 million.
