TRAINER CHAD BROWN TO PARTICIPATE IN LIVE WEB CHAT

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Chad Brown, a native of Mechanicville, N.Y., who currently holds second place in the 2010 Saratoga Race Course trainer standings, will participate in a live chat on Thursday, August 12 at 8 p.m. EDT. The homepage for the NYRA live chats is http://www.nyra.com/livechat/index.shtml.

Brown graduated from Cornell University in 2001 with a degree in Animal Husbandry and went on to work for Hall of Fame trainers Shug McGaughey and the late Bobby Frankel before going out on his own in 2007 at age 28. Now 31, Brown has sent out 10 winners from 25 starters through the close of racing at Saratoga on Monday for an impressive 40 percent win rate.

A resident of Saratoga Springs whose stable is based at Belmont Park, Brown sent out his first winner, Dual Jewels, in November 2007 at Churchill Downs. In 2008, he saddled Maram to win the inaugural Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita Park. His wife, Terrill, is the granddaughter of late trainer William “Red” Terrill, and the couple has a young daughter.

Fans who wish to participate in the live dialogue with Brown may log on to http://www.nyra.com/livechat beginning this Thursday at 8 p.m. No pre-registration is necessary and users may simply type questions and comments in the chat field at the bottom of the page for Brown to address. At the conclusion of the chat, an “instant replay” is created for future reference.
