Saratoga Race Course to announce series of special events in preparation for a weekend for the ages

 

Double Day Spectacular to feature back to back blockbuster events: 141st running of the historic Travers Stakes and Rachel Alexandra’s return to Saratoga

 

WHAT:          The New York Racing Association Inc., City of Saratoga Springs and Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce will outline partnership initiatives to celebrate an unprecedented Double Day Spectacular at Saratoga Race Course.

DETAILS:     The New York Racing Association Inc., the city of Saratoga Springs and the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce will announce a series of special events and fan-oriented activities to support a weekend of racing destined to be one for the ages at Saratoga Race Course.

 

NYRA and Saratoga Springs officials will unveil the initiatives planned to celebrate this weekend’s Double Day Spectacular – marked by the Grade 1, $1 million Travers Stakes on Saturday, August 28 and the return of the reigning Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra in the Grade 1, $300,000 Personal Ensign Stakes on Sunday, August 29.

 

The week-long celebration will feature a number of exciting new elements designed to herald Saratoga’s marquee race and Rachel’s return to the site of one of her most scintillating victories on her way to Horse of the Year honors.
