Todd Pletcher, winning trainer of Interactif (No. 1): “Obviously it was a very close finish, but he was able to get his nose down at the wire. On paper, it looked like a race that lacked a little pace. I didn’t expect the French horse [
“It was about trying to find the right spot for him. He’s been ambitiously placed all year. He won his first stakes here on the turf last year. We wanted to get back on track and in the winner’s circle.”

Javier Castellano, winning jockey aboard Interactif (No. 1): “It was a very exciting race. It was a small field with not too many horses, and they put up a slow pace with slow fractions. I just took cover on the first turn, saved ground the best I could, but on the far turn I had to make my own decision. Turning for home it looked like three horses were in it and it was going to be a good race. I’m very excited with the way he ran today.”
Gary Contessa, trainer of runner-up Grand Rapport (No. 3): “He just ran his eyeballs out. There was a little bit of a lack of pace. I wish there was a little bit of a faster pace. He’s a good horse that’s just very inexperienced as stake horses go, but he’s just getting better and better. It’s just his style to stay off the pace because he has no early speed. We’re going to have a lot of fun as the year goes on, that’s for sure.”
Ramon Dominguez, jockey aboard runner-up Grand Rapport (No. 3): “I knew it was pretty close and it could have gone either way, but I was riding so hard at the wire that I wasn’t sure. I was hopeful that it maybe went our way. I knew there wasn’t going to be a whole lot of speed, and I knew I was going to have to come from behind. I really have no excuse, but my horse ran hard. And the winner is a nice horse, but it could have gone either way, that’s the way I look at it.”
Kiaran McLaughlin, trainer of third-place finisher Krypton (No. 4): “It was a tough beat. I think the weight got us.”
Rajiv Maragh, jockey aboard third-place finisher Krypton (No. 4): “It’s unfortunate he didn’t win because he ran so hard.”
