TAKE A SIP OF THE SPA AT DEBUT OF GALLOPING GRAPES:

A NEW YORK WINE EVENT AT SARATOGA RACE COURSE

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Wine aficionados and thoroughbred fans will come together for Saratoga Race Course’s wine festival “Galloping Grapes: A New York Wine Event” on Friday, August 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The first-time event will showcase more than a dozen wineries from across New York State. Guests are invited to take in a day of first-class wine and racing as they sip and sample their way around a designated section of the backyard.

The first 1,500 guests at the event will receive a commemorative Saratoga Race Course wine glass with their paid admission.

All proceeds from the event will benefit non-profit organizations the Times Union Hope Fund, Classroom Enrichment Program, and Gift of Life International.

“We are extremely excited to host the inaugural Galloping Grapes wine festival at Saratoga Race Course. The event will provide our guests with a wonderful opportunity to taste exquisite wines from some of the finest wineries in New York,” said NYRA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Hal Handel. “We encourage our fans to join us at Saratoga to raise a glass to benefit three worthwhile organizations.”

Featured wineries and vendors for the festival include Adirondack Winery, Altamont Vineyard and Winery, Brookview Station Winery, Cabot Creamery Cooperative, Chateau Lafayette Reneau, Colebrook Country Wines, Heron Hill Winery, King Ferry Winery, Saratoga Sweets, Swedish Hill Vineyard and Whitecliff Vineyards. Event guests will have the opportunity to sample and purchase products from participating vendors.

Advance tickets are available for $10; tickets will be available day of the event on track for $15. Advance tickets may be purchased at www.timesunion.com/gallopinggrapes/.

Tickets to the inaugural Galloping Grapes wine festival are purchased separately from Grandstand and Clubhouse admission to Saratoga Race Course.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Times Union Hope Fund, which works to provide philanthropic support to Capital Region after-school and summer programs; the Times Union Classroom Enrichment Program, which provides teachers and students in the Capital Region with newspapers and other learning tools to help educate students; and Gift of Life International, which addresses the medical needs of children who suffer from congenital heart defects and other similar conditions.
