DETAILS:     As thoroughbred racing prepares to return to the foothills of the Adirondacks, officials with the New York Racing Association will discuss plans for the upcoming meet which will expand by four days and consist of 40 racing days.

 

                        The 2010 racing season gets underway on Friday, July 23 and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 6.

 

NYRA President and CEO Charlie Hayward will be joined by several senior executives to discuss the stakes and racing schedule; marketing promotions and special events; as well as the horsemen, jockeys and thoroughbreds expected for the 142^nd meet.

 

Management from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group will be in attendance to preview plans for the group’s exciting culinary additions to Saratoga Race Course, including Shake Shack, Blue Smoke and The Paddock Bar.

 

A representative from Fasig-Tipton will discuss plans for the second annual Fasig-Tipton Festival of Racing at Saratoga.

 

NYRA officials will also unveil the Spa’s giveaways.

 

                        A buffet luncheon will be served following the news conference.
