NYRA LAUNCHES ‘FORBES’ FIRSTERS’
ELMONT, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has announced the launch of Forbes’ Firsters, a series that takes a glance at the pedigrees and sales histories of select 2-year-olds who are making their debuts in maiden special weight races at Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park, or Saratoga Race Course.
Many of history’s best horses have commenced their careers in New York, and Forbes’ Firsters will help fans find the stars of tomorrow as they head postward for the first time. Each edition of Forbes’ Firsters will be available on the NYRA website at http://www.nyra.com/firsters/index.shtml, in addition to being released to the media before the designated raceday.
The series will be written by NYRA Media Specialist Jon Forbes.
Forbes’ Firsters comes on the heels of the New York Watch series, launched in January to shine the spotlight on promising colts and fillies that have recently cleared the maiden ranks at Aqueduct, Belmont Park, or Saratoga. The New York Watch website is located online at http://www.nyra.com/nywatch. Therein, fans can read details, view photos, and watch race replays of each featured horse. There have been 13 horses featured on the website.
