John Terranova, winning trainer of Franny Freud (No. 8):“We expected her to run well. She’s just a special filly. The Prioress [July 1] is a Grade 1, and her next start will be in a Grade 1. She’s a Grade 1 filly. You never know with the heat – we had a little bit of a hot day – but we have a nice break ahead. We have almost six weeks going into the Prioress. She’s in top form and is super fit, and she seemed to enjoy herself today.”
Garrett Gomez, winning jockey aboard Franny Freud (No. 8): “She’s a real sweet horse. The level of competition is a little different than when she ran at Keeneland [in the Grade 2 Beaumont], but to me she’s getting stronger with each race. She gets more and more mature and understands what I’m asking her to do. She’s a real pleasure.”
