With Purpose Romps In Kattegat’s Pride Starter Handicap
BALTIMORE, 05-14-10 – Peter Kazamias’ With Purpose rallied three wide around the far turn and came home a driving winner in the $25,000 Kattegat’s Pride Starter Handicap, the first of seven added-money races on Friday’s Black-Eyed Susan program at Pimlico.
Eibar Coa brought the 4-year-old daughter of Rock Slide back to the winner’s circle after completing the 1-1/16th -mile distance in 1:47.42 over the fast main track. With Purpose finished a length clear of Swear Allegiance, who was another half-length ahead of Frock’s Valley Girl. The race was restricted to 3-year-olds-and-up who had started for a claiming price of $7,500 or less in 2009-2010. With Purpose has now won two of three starter allowance races this year.
The Maryland-bred filly, who is trained by her owner at Philadelphia Park, paid $8.80 for a $2 win ticket.
