Joharmony Triumphs In Hilltop Stakes
BALTIMORE, 05-14-10 – Gary L. Chervenell’s Joharmony swept to victory in the finale of Friday’s Black-Eyed Susan program, the $70,000 Hilltop Stakes, contested at 1-1/16 miles over the turf at Pimlico Race Course.
Javier Castellano rode the daughter of Johar for trainer Leigh Delacour. He kept the 3-year-old filly racing comfortably in third behind two battling speed horses, Smart Seattle and Potosina. When asked to go, Joharmony swept past the top two and galloped out to victory, winning by 4-1/2 lengths in 1:44.17.
Potosina finished second but was disqualified to third for interfering with Kit Kats Luck, who was elevated to second.
The winner paid $6.60 while winning her fourth straight race while making her stakes debut.
