NYRA TV ANALYST JASON BLEWITT TO PARTICIPATE IN LIVE WEB CHAT

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – NYRA TV Analyst Jason Blewitt will participate in a live web chat Friday, April 23, at 8 p.m. EDT on nyra.com.

A native of Floral Park, N.Y., Blewitt, 32, grew up just a stone’s throw from Belmont Park. On September 19, 1998, he began working with NYRA as a press box assistant. It was the same date that Skip Away won the prestigious Grade 1 Woodward, marking his ninth consecutive graded stakes victory.

Less than nine months later, in May of 1999, Blewitt’s rapid ascension at NYRA continued when he made his first appearance on Talking Horses, NYRA’s daily preview show, alongside current NYRA Director of TV Production and Racecaller John Imbriale.

Today, Blewitt is a regular on Talking Horses with Andy Serling and Eric Donovan, in addition to hosting the daily Aqueduct/Belmont Park/Saratoga in 30 recap shows on MSG+ and Thoroughbred Weekly, the same channel’s weekly recap of NYRA racing.

In 2009, Blewitt provided on-air analysis for the first season of MSG+’s “Saturdays at Saratoga” series, including the live broadcast of Rachel Alexandra’s historic win in the Woodward, which earned an honorable mention in the Eclipse Awards Local Television category.

Fans who wish to participate in the live dialogue with Blewitt may log on to http://www.nyra.com/livechat beginning this Friday at 8 p.m. No pre-registration is necessary and users may simply type questions and comments in the chat field at the bottom of the page for Blewitt to address. At the conclusion of the chat, an “instant replay” is created for future reference.

NYRA has conducted live chats on Friday evenings since October 23. Blewitt will be the sixth guest host in the chat series, following NYRA Chief Operating Officer Hal Handel, leading trainer Gary Contessa, veteran New York jockey Richard Migliore, Hall of Fame rider Jorge Velasquez, trainer and NYTHA president, Rick Violette, and most recently NYRA Racecaller and Director of TV Production John Imbriale. NYRA TV Analyst Andy Serling regularly hosts the chats.

Fans who wish to view transcriptions of previous chats may do so at http://www.nyra.com/livechat.
