NEW ORLEANS (Thursday, March 04, 2010) – The 25th renewal of the $60,000 Gentilly Stakes for 3-year-old Louisiana-breds and the eighth running of the $60,000 Sarah Lane’s Oates Stakes for state-bred sophomore fillies share top billing this Saturday at Fair Grounds.

Heiligbrodt Racing Stable’s Heavenville, most recently runner-up in Delta Downs’ $125,000 Premier Night Prince Stakes Feb. 6 and third in both Fair Grounds’ $109,000 Louisiana Futurity (colts and gelding division) and $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile last December, is the lukewarm 7-2 morning line favorite in the Gentilly Stakes, which serves as the finale on Saturday’s 10-race program.

Northpointe Thoroughbreds’ The Rumor’s True, third in Delta’s $125,000 Premier Night Starlet Stakes Feb. 6 but heroine of Fair Grounds’ $111,000 Louisiana Futurity (filly division) before that on Dec. 31, is the tepid 5-2 morning line choice in the $60,000 Sarah Lane’s Oates Stakes, which is slated as Saturday’s third race.

Shane Sellers gets the riding assignment on the Steve Asmussen-trained Heavenville, while Richard Eramia is slated to handle the reins aboard the Steven Duke-conditioned The Rumor’s True.

From the rail out, the Gentilly field with jockeys assigned consists of Brave Day, Miguel Mena; Gentle Moment, Curt Bourque; Dynamic Time, James Graham; Onethreesevenbox, Richard Eramia; Heavenville, Shane Sellers; Target Flash, Corey Lanerie; Tensas Cat, John Jacinto; Crescent City Zip, Trey Agilar; Productive Envoy, Robby Albarado; Roll Me Away, Eddie Martin Jr.; Devilish Due, Brian Hernandez Jr.; Pioneering Native, Francisco Torres; Even Steven, Pat Valenzuela; and Tupelo Playboy, Jamie Theriot.

The Sarah Lane’s Oates field from the inside, with riders assigned, is Candy Delicious, Corey Lanerie; Dreamsalive, James Graham; Lunar Fest, Shane Sellers; Ide Be Spartacus, Pat Valenzuela; New Elite, Brian Hernandez Jr.; The Rumor’s True, Richard Eramia; Isn’t She Gorgeous, Robby Albarado; and Ladyzarbridge, John Jacinto.
