Dale Romans (trainer, Paddy O’Prado, 1st) - I’ve always thought a lot of him. He’s never had a clean trip in any of his races, but once he’s gotten clear, he’s always come running at the end. He’s run against some nice horses. I didn’t have any problem running him in here as a maiden. I think he’s as talented as any 3-year-old I’ve got in the barn, so why not run him in a Grade 3 for a $150,000 (purse) rather than a maiden race worth $50,000? We’re seriously thinking about running him on the Polytrack at Keeneland, maybe even the Blue Grass ($750,000 (G1) on Apr. 10).”
Jesus Castanon (jockey, Paddy O’Prado, 1st) – “The plan was just to let him go where he wanted to go in the beginning. I had a good break out of the gate, I let him get comfortable, and he just took me up there. There was just one horse (Asphalt) that put a little pressure on him, but my horse was always happy doing it. And once the other horse started to back away from him, once my horse felt that he was free, he just took off; he was all business. He galloped out strong, and I believe he can go longer than this now.”
Eibar Coa (jockey, Bim Bam, 5th) – “He didn’t break as sharp as he normally does, and he just wasn’t the same. I was never in trouble, but I never felt I was really in contention. We rode him pretty hard the last three races.”
