AQUEDUCT TO HOST “JAMAICA DAY” SATURDAY, APRIL 10

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The Islands come to Aqueduct on April 10, when The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), hosts “Jamaica Day” at the Big A, brought to you by the Jamaica Tourist Board, Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and Grill, Irie Jam Media Group, Inc. and JAM-X/ The Coral Sea Entertainment Group.

Beginning at noon and continuing throughout Aqueduct’s 10-race card, Irie Jam Radio, the leader in Caribbean news and entertainment, will broadcast live on the first floor of the Clubhouse.  Patrons will also be treated to the sounds of Coral Sea Entertainment Group’s JAM-X Reggae/Steel Drum Band, which brings a unique and exciting blend of high energy Reggae, Ska, Calypso and Caribbean roots music.

Those tempted by Aqueduct’s “Taste of the Islands” can stop by the Jamaica Tourist Board table on the first floor of the Clubhouse for giveaway items and information on Jamaica vacation packages and tourism.

One lucky fan will win a five-day/four-night trip for two to the Courtleigh Hotel & Suites in Kingston, Jamaica, with round-trip airfare from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Kingston via JetBlue Airways, courtesy of the Jamaica Tourist Board and its partners.  Entries may be submitted next to the escalator bank on the first floor of the Clubhouse, as well as on the second floor near the Wood Memorial wall (one entry per person, must be 21 years of age or older to enter).  The drawing will be held directly following the day’s seventh race and winner will be announced live by the Irie Jam remote team, but winner need not be present at drawing to redeem prize.

Finally, Golden Krust Bakery, the popular manufacturer and distributor of Caribbean food products and franchisor of Caribbean restaurants, will sponsor a Caribbean food sampling of its best-selling patties and other products trackside on the first floor of the Clubhouse.  Aqueduct’s own Equestris dining room will also feature a Caribbean-themed buffet at the regular weekend price of $29.95 for adults and $19.95 for children.
